The Director of Immigration, Ministry of Interior and coordination of National Government,
RE: TRACEY BARNES – RACIST OF THE WORST ORDER IN EABL
Iam an employee who left East African Breweries last year and I felt that it was very important for immigration to know the frustrations the staff in particular and EABL in general have been going through because of the Group Finance Director called Tracy Barnes.
We have not met the targets for 2 years because of the unreasonable targets set by the group finance director. The targets are not only unrealistic and unachievable but purely meant to frustrate employees so that they are sacked and replaced with whites and that is exactly what has been happening.
It is very bad for Kenyans to be frustrated in their own soil by a foreigner yet we have a solid Government with a strong immigration department which is supposed to protect its citizens.
The Jubilee Government promised 500,000 jobs per year yet it is watching when over 100 employees lost their jobs in EABL because of this racial woman who said EABL was dominated by one tribe – KIKUYU and she vowed to dismantle them which she has successfully done within two years of her stay here.
She is ever bringing white people to do funny projects everywhere. By the time i left, there were still many whites while Kenyans are being shown the door. My friends who are still there tells me that its getting worse and she is abusing staff calling them blacks.
She discriminates against Kenyans and thinks that only whites can do the very simple jobs yet we have been doing the same jobs before in EABL for all those years the company has been existing.
She has already completed 3(Three) years and to my little knowledge, i have never seen her support a single Kenyan to understudy her roles.
It is very important to know that before she took over this position , it used to held by a Kenyan by the name Peter Ndegwa and she made sure that he was removed.
Why should Immigration be allowing Kenyan positions be occupied by foreigners with all due respect?
She is very malicious and looks for all means possible to put down Kenyans in a bid to get a job for the white and she has succeeded in all cases.
Few of my friends have told me that she has even gone to the extent of demoting people if she does not succeed to have them send home. She has frustrated very many of our Kenyan people.
This is our country which we must be proud of even if we are blacks or Kikuyus as she calls us.
I believe you saw in the media for the last two years that most of the senior positions have been taken over by foreigners which were held by Kenyans. Just to mention, below are a few of the positions which were held by Kenyans and have been taken over by foreigners after the Kenyans were either sacked or forced to resign;
It is very sad to say that the senior positions held by the few remaining Kenyans are clearly in danger if Tracy Barnes is left to continue in her position.
For the sake of our Kenyan people working in fear in EABL who are working for their innocent wives and children in school, I strongly urge the department to cancel the above work permit immediately.

An anonymous letter addressed to you in regard to the abovementioned subject matter, refers.
We are most aggrieved at the fact that your Department has not only allowed too many unnecessary expatriates but some like the one adversely mentioned at the EABL – to cause an untold pain to Kenyan workers on their own soil. It is very unfortunate that in the last on month, 3 senior officers including a Director in the Finance Department resigned on account of alleged mistreatment by Ms Barnes.
Indeed, it is difficult to comprehend and no manner of excuse(s) can justify the continued stay of Ms Tracy Barnes in Kenya, Kenya’s bilateral relations with the UK notwithstanding. In the spirit of fairness, however, and within the provisions of Article 50 of the Constitution, we DEMAND as follows;
(a) THAT Ms Tracy Barnes and all other expatriates at the EABL be summoned to your office, no later than 72 hours (and at which meeting we wish to be observers) to establish the validity and the merit of the said work permit(s).
(b) THAT your Department show cause, within 7 days with effect from the date hereof, why legal action should not be take against the entire Department and specifically your officers who approved the said work permits.
(c) THAT within 14 days, you provide firm grounds that such wrongs of commission and or omission in the issuance of work permits and passports (both ordinary and diplomatic) will not be entertained and should the same be breached- individual approving officers shall take full personal responsibility for the same.
We look forward to your early and favourable response. Thank you
November 2013: Group managing director and CEO Charles Ireland, finance director Tracey Barnes and supply chain director Christian Von Der Heide had been given a dateline by the ministry of labour to pay 57 workers or face arrest.
The employees were attached to EABL’s subsidiary Central Glass Industries (CGI) before their transfer to a human resources outsourcing firm, prompting them to seek the help of the ministry to claim their retirement dues from the listed brewer.
